While fans are getting ready to see Reba McEntire and her Reba co-star Melissa Peterman together on TV again, they are also curious about the latter’s weight loss as they quiz her on social media. Melissa lost up to 60 pounds after having her son, Riley David Brady, in the mid-2000s while also playing Barbra Jean in Reba.
She has since maintained her relatively slimmer figure, showing off her looks via her Instagram; however, she has yet to reveal the secret behind her weight loss. Fans cannot wait to see Melissa and Reba on Happy’s Place, which will premiere on October 18, 2024.
How did Melissa Peterman lose weight?
Although Melissa has not spoken about losing weight recently, she did a lot of strength training and cardio after having Riley. She also had to move around a lot as a new mom and opted for healthier food options with her favorite junk food in smaller quantities.
Specifically, Melissa enjoyed having vegan meals and soup and would snack on peanut butter and apples in between meals. She once joked during an interview that she eats cottage cheese while looking for Riley’s shoes in the mornings.
Melissa Peterman loves her body
Melissa is her body’s number one fan; even with her muffin top, the roll of fat below her abdomen, she loves her body and height. She also chooses outfits that complement her figure, like the sheer black outfit she wore during the Emmys in September.

She shared photos from the event on her Instagram, showing off her A-line outfit, a fabulous bouffant hairstyle, and a face full of makeup. “I want to thank my glam stan Deanna who made me feel like Bridgette Bardot!” her caption read. Fans flocked to the comments with kind words, reminding her of how pretty she looks.
