Richard Simmons Stayed True To His Style Even In His Final Resting Place

After he was privately buried in Los Angeles, Richard Simmon’s family held a celebration for his legacy in his New Orleans hometown, just like she wanted. During the event, Richard’s brother, Lenny Simmons, made a revelation while eulogizing him, and fans thought it was just adorable.

He noted that the late fitness guru maintained his gym-inspired fashion to his final resting place. Fans and loved ones present at the venue appeared in workout attire, and marched to a jazz band performance of “When the Saints Go Marching In.”

What did Richard Simmons wear to the great beyond?

Lenny humorously told the audience that Richard wore a tank top and shorts underneath his burial clothes, just in case he needed to help the angels and saints in heaven get in shape. He joked that his late sibling will now be “sweating with the holies” forever.

Lenny said his brother was deeply connected to God during his lifetime and was committed to helping others. Rather than mourn, Lenny prefers that the public celebrate his brother’s legacy as a fun-having and kind person— just like Richards would have wanted.

Life without Richards Simmons

Richards’ passing brought about sober reflection from fans and fellow celebrities, who looked forward to his comeback after being away from the public eye for years. The late icon never got to do the interactive Broadway workout show he promised, nor his updated plans to help the new generation stay in shape.

His family is also experiencing trouble over his will, with his house manager and friend Teresa Reveles asking to be reinstated as his estate co-trustee after rejecting the role initially. She claims Lenny took advantage of her vulnerability and pushed her to make such a foolish decision to exempt her from benefits.
