Bruce Willis is set to turn 70 in March next year. However, his family worries he might not live that long as his health deteriorates. The former actor has been living with Frontotemporal Dementia for about two years now, with a record of progressively worsening symptoms in the past months.
A source revealed that his family is concerned about his mortality, and while they cherish quality time with him in this regard, they are also preparing for his passing. He has been sported a few times in public, and these appearances take planning as he needs help with nearly everything, including getting into the car.
Bruce Willis’ family is helping him feel safe
Bruce’s loved ones have provided him with a hands-on team of bodyguards and caretakers for his outings to shield him from the public. His condition might cause him to be flustered by a crowd and react out of confusion, hence the need to control his environment.
The insider noted that Bruce is now a shadow of his energetic former self and is almost completely dependent on his caretakers. His wife, Emma Heming Willis, has taken to social media occasionally to open up about her tough experience as his primary caregiver while raising their two daughters, Mabel and Evelyn.
Making the most of today
While Bruce is still here, his family are more concerned with enjoying quality time and making memories before he passes away. There have been a few family getaways, plenty of photos and some memorable milestones including the birth of his first grandchild, Louetta Isley Thomas.

Bruce reportedly has a hard time remembering some of his loved ones including ex-wife Demi Moore, however, he is still well aware of Emma. His former hobbies, such as reading, have also become a pastime as the Hollywood legend can no longer make sense of written text or even communicate effectively.
