Bruce Willis was confirmed to have Frontotemporal Dementia last year after being initially diagnosed with Aphasia in 2022. The movie icon had to forfeit his career, as he is unable to remember his lines, speak properly, or function as usual.
His family, including his ex-wife Demi Moore and their three daughters, Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah, have been supportive and present while sharing updates about his health alongside his current wife, Emma Hemming. Although most news has been disheartening, Rumer recently shared some information that appears promising.

Rumer appeared on an episode of the Today show where she claimed that Bruce is “so good” and often spends time with her one-year-old baby, Louetta Isley. She added that Bruce is a doting and “extremely doting” grandfather to Lou. Unlike previous updates, Rumer’s words were a glimmer of relief about Bruce’s current state.

She also admitted that the love and support from family and fans so far have contributed tremendously to his well-being. She echoed her mission to continue raising awareness about Frontotemporal Dementia in hopes of finding a solution and reaching out to victims and their families.
Living with FTD came with a series of changes, not only for Bruce but also for his loved ones. His friend and collaborator creator Glenn Gordon Caron shared that he has a hard time communicating and remembering, although he appears to recognize him whenever he visits. Glenn, who visits the former actor every month, added that Bruce used to be a “voracious reader” but can no longer pick up his favorite books.
Sadly, Bruce was unable to remember Rumer’s mother during a vacation in Italy last December. The actress reportedly teared up but has come to accept who Bruce is, not what she expects him to be. Caron later clarified that it takes a while for Bruce to understand what or who is before him, including people in his life. The Willis’ are spending as much time as they can with Bruce and seek to create memories to be cherished when the inevitable happens.
