Jennie Garth Claims Luke Perry ‘Talks To Her’ In Moments Of Turmoil

Jennie Garth recently added to her business portfolio with the launch of the Me by Jennie Garth collection, which she created in collaboration with QVC. Among her pieces is a special sustainable jacket named after one of her beloved co-stars, Luke Perry.

Jennie and Luke were friends until the very end, with the latter being a voice of encouragement to Jennie before he died from a stroke in 2019. She admitted to still hearing Luke’s voice in her moments of weakness, crediting him as the motivation behind her hard work.

Perry was only 52 when he died, and this came as a shock to Jennie, leaving a confidant vacant in her life. Thankfully, Jennie still gets to learn from him as she admitted to feeling his energy and getting advice from him whenever she is in a fix.

She recalled battling imposter syndrome disorderliness ahead of the launch of her first collection until she closed her eyes and saw Perry, who told her to “keep going.” While dealing with Perry’s absence, Jennie lost another co-star, Shannen Doherty to breast cancer.

Choosing herself

Standing by her words from 25 years ago, Jennie has learned to put herself first, even birthing the ME by Jennie Garth brand as a result. In retrospect, Jennie sees that her Beverly Hills, 90210 character, Kelly Taylor was right to choose herself just like she could.

She noted that her role defined her career, and she would not mind reprising the role if the need arose. Jennie also admitted that aging is giving her a newer perspective on life, and thanks to initiatives like the Age of Possibility, the Q50, a.k.a the Quintessential 50, the limitations of how much one can achieve at any age are lifted.
