Larry Birkhead Shares Rare Flashback Photo With Anna Nicole Smith’s Daughter, Dannielynn

Although Larry Birkhead has done a great job keeping his teenage daughter, Dannielynn, out of the spotlight, they have graced events together multiple times. The father and daughter duo ensure they never miss the annual Kentucky Derby, where Larry and Dannielynn’s mother, Anna Nicole Smith, met in 2003.

He recently shared a series of throwback photos, including ones from Dannielynn’s childhood, after the tragic passing of Nicole from an accidental drug overdose. One of the moments was from an episode of Larry King Live, where Larry raises little Dannielynn up in a dainty dress and show host King looks on.

Dannielynn’s birth brought about a paternity battle

Larry’s appearance with Dannielynn on Larry King Live was his first prime-time interview after winning custody of the adorable toddler following his ex-lover’s passing. Anna had moved on with Howard K. Stern when Dannielynn was born, leading to a legal battle between Larry and Stern.

Anna had included Stern on Dannielynn’s birth certificate, however, the paternity test confirmed Larry to be her dad. The celebrity photographer was unrelenting in his fight for custody of Dannielynn, noting on King’s daytime program that he always knew he was her dad. He took great care of Dannielynn, who will turn 18 in September.

Meet Dannielynn

Dannielynn is arguably the spitting image of her mother, and Larry often admits that she reminds him of Anna with her smile, beauty and confidence. A book-smart whiz, Dannielynn was an honor roll student in her senior year and is looking to pursue a career in forensics as she prepares for college.

Father and daughter bond over a few interests including the yearly Derby, and their favorite Pop musicians Janet Jackson and the Duran Duran group. Back in 2022, Dannielynn stunned at the pre-Derby Barnstable Brown Gala in an outfit Jackson wore to the event a decade prior. She posed for photos with the music star and her dad in the black and white ensemble, just like Janet wore in 2003.
