It was recently reported that Clint Eastwood’s longtime partner, Christina Sandera, had passed away at the age of 61. Since then, the famed actor and director has released a statement following the news, saying, “Christina was a lovely, caring woman, and I will miss her very much.”

No cause of death has been disclosed. Eastwood and Sandera, known for keeping their relationship private, reportedly met while she was working as a hostess at his property, the Mission Ranch Hotel in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. This area, located on the Monterey Peninsula, has been Eastwood’s home for decades.

Despite their private life, Sandera accompanied the Gran Torino star to many events, particularly those related to his films. At the 2015 Oscars, where his movie American Sniper was nominated for six awards, including Best Picture, Eastwood brought Sandera as his date, marking their first public appearance together.
