John Stamos Says He Listened To Bob Saget’s Audiobook Every Night After His Death

Bob Saget’s death in January 2022 left a void in the hearts of many, including that of his Full House co-stars. John Stamos recently recalled how he coped with his colleague’s death on the latest episode of the Full House Rewind podcast, noting that he listened to Bob’s voice every night.

Stamos was able to connect with Bob via the audiobook version of his 2014 memoir titled Dirty Daddy: The Chronicles of a Family Man Turned Filthy Comedian. Although Stamos considered the book “dirty and weird” upon its release, it turned out to be comforting after Bob died.

Stamos pointed out an eerie detail from Bob’s book, where he joked about hitting his head and calling TMZ to say he was dying. Coincidentally, Bob died from blunt head trauma after suffering a bad fall in his Ritz-Carlton Orlando hotel room in Grande Lakes, Florida.

Bob was in the city for his I Don’t Do Negative comedy tour and did not think much of the accident as he laid down to rest ahead of the next gig. He reportedly died in his sleep with traces of prescription drug clonazepam in his system. It was also discovered via autopsy that the comedy icon suffered from cardiomegaly, coronary artery atherosclerosis and aortic atherosclerosis.

Stamos’ last time with Bob

Shortly after Bob’s unfortunate death, Stamos recalled his last encounter with the screen legend during a double date at Nobu. Stamos noted that Bob seemed more relaxed than usual and did not look like he was going to die the following month. He praised Bob’s listening ear, adding that he was thoughtful and caring as always.

Testifying to Bob’s kind nature, podcast host Dave Coulier revealed how Bob took him in when he first moved to Los Angeles as a teenager. He then joked about the irony of playing family years later on Full House alongside Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure, twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and Jodie Sweetin.
