Throughout the late ‘90s and early 2000s, they were two-thirds of the Charmed Ones, and recently, former colleagues Shannen Doherty and Holly Marie Combs reunited for a pleasant lunch together. For Doherty, this comes amidst her grueling battle with stage four breast cancer.
In the fantasy drama Charmed, created by Constance M. Burge and produced by Aaron Spelling, Doherty and Combs played magical sisters alongside Alyssa Milano, each tasked with protecting innocents from evil. The show has received numerous accolades and nominations throughout its runtime and was brought back on the CW as a reboot.

Doherty was spotted with Combs while out in Malibu on Thursday. The two stopped at the Soho House for lunch together, with Combs sporting a long black maxi dress that reached to just above her boot-clad feet, under a knee-length black coat left unbuttoned.

Doherty similarly kept things comfortable in a dark V-neck and thick jacket that matched her naturally dark hair, and while Combs swept her brown locks up into a loose bun, Doherty wore hers flowing loose around her face. Doherty tied the look together with tan pants.
The two actors parted ways when Doherty left Charmed after season three in a move that remains the subject of debate to this day. Some accounts point to Milano as the driving force behind her departure, a claim Milano denies.
Looking to the future
Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and subsequently underwent chemotherapy, radiation, and a mastectomy. She went into remission in 2017; however, in 2020 her cancer returned and was in stage four. Last year, Doherty announced that the cancer had spread to her brain and bones.
Recently, Doherty has been making end-of-life plans that see her selling off her possessions. “My priority at the moment is my mom,” she explained of the choice on her Let’s Be Clear podcast. “I know it’s going to be hard for her if I pass away before her, but — so sorry, this is a hard one for me — but because it’s going to be so hard on her, I want other things to be a lot easier.”
However, Doherty is also among the Charmed cast expected to attend ‘90s Con, a convention that celebrates all things 1990s, from fashion to entertainment. Along with Doherty, other Charmed attendees will include Combs, as well as Rose McGowan, who played the fourth sister Paige after Doherty’s departure, Brian Krause, Dorian Gregory, and Jennifer Rhodes. The event will be held in Daytona Beach, Florida, and run from September 13 to 15.
