Shannen Doherty revealed her battle with breast cancer In 2015 and continued to share her journey with fans on social media. After undergoing several treatments, Doherty announced that her cancer was in remission in 2017. Sadly, the 52-year-old revealed in 2020 that the ailment had returned and at stage four, which had spread to her brain and her bones.
However, despite the health setback, the star shared a heartening update during the festive season, expressing gratitude for being alive to celebrate another Christmas.

During a Christmas Day broadcast on her podcast, Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty, the actress, alongside her mother, Rosa Doherty, expressed gratitude for her life, acknowledging the challenges she faced throughout the year. “This year is about just being incredibly grateful that we’re here… we get to spend time with the people that are by our sides through thick and thin… that don’t walk away, that love us unconditionally,” Doherty stated. “I’m just so thankful really to be here for it.”

Doherty also explained that she got the opportunity to plan for the Christmas celebrations. “I even got to schedule my cancer infusions where I would be recovered completely from it for Christmas,” she said.
She is living a good life despite the hurt and emotional trauma she has faced
The TV producer explained that the year had been quite challenging for her in terms of her health and other aspects, especially her marital life. She recently filed for divorce from Kurt Iswarienko, her husband of 11 years, on grounds of infidelity. “For me, it’s been a turbulent year,” Doherty detailed. “Some massive health struggles, some massive personal struggles, a lot of heartbreak and fear.”
However, the 52-year-old disclosed that she has moved past the heartbreak and is enjoying her life. “With all of that, I have found … I was actually saying this to myself the other night, ‘God, I think I’m actually starting to live the happiest version of myself,'” Doherty confessed. “Even though it’s been such a contentious year for me, for some reason, it just feels it’s gotten a lot lighter lately and a lot more positive.”
