Bruce Springsteen Makes Stage Return Looking Unrecognizable After Health Struggle

Rocking the music scene since 1964, Bruce Springsteen returned to the stage for the first time in months. While fans were excited to hear the “Glory Days” live once again, he was seen looking a bit different from how he usually does, with something in his appearance having some outlets saying he’s channeling Tilda Swinton.

At the age of 74, Springsteen has generally kept himself as busy as ever. Announcements of his 2024 World Tour were met with abundant fanfare, but it did encounter some roadblocks. Specifically, Springsteen had to take a break and postpone some of the tour due to his peptic ulcer disease. Here’s how he’s doing.

Springsteen has made his much-anticipated return to the stage after it had to be pushed back for his health. For his big comeback, Springsteen wore a red flannel shirt, which he kept artfully unbuttoned, showing off his chest and a long pendant he wore around his neck.

He paired the top with dark jeans and a pair of blue armbands worn around his wrists. His white hair was kept swept out of his face, in a look that NY Post likened to Tilda Swinton. The outlet also noted he appeared a bit more pallid than usual in light of his recent health struggles.

Back in September, Springsteen announced that his tour would have to be delayed to 2024; his doctor had recommended he take time to recover from his peptic ulcer disease. Phoenix, Arizona witnessed his return to the stage on Tuesday and he was met with prolonged cries of “Bruuuuce!” from the audience he was to serenade.

Springsteen responded with an enthusiastic “Good evening, Arizona!” From then, the show did indeed go on.

During the concert, however, Springsteen also took time to address his condition and the delay it caused. “Phoenix, first I want to apologize if there was any discomfort because we had to move the show last time,” he said, “I hope we didn’t inconvenience you too much.” When it came to performing that night, besides his slightly different appearance, audiences saw no sign of the illness Springsteen contended with last year.

Now, the Boss is back!
