FIRST LOOK: Warner Bros. Releases First Official Images Of ‘Beetlejuice’ Sequel

The 1988 cult classic comedy-horror movie Beetlejuice tells the story of Adam and Barbara Maitland, a couple trapped in their haunted home. The film swiftly captured viewers’ hearts upon its release, solidifying its status as a beloved favorite.

It’s been almost three and a half decades since the original release of the movie, and amidst numerous speculations about a sequel, the long-awaited announcement of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice in 2022 excited fans of the beloved film as they await its release in September 2024. Recently, Warner Bros., the production studio behind the project, unveiled the first official images, igniting a surge of joy and enthusiasm among enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the return of the beloved ghostly antics.

Recently, fans were treated to the first images from the highly anticipated Beetlejuice sequel. Among these captivating visuals, one particular photo stole the spotlight, showcasing the return of the legendary Michael Keaton in his iconic role as the irreverent ghost, Beetlejuice. Keaton’s look reminded fans of the beloved character’s heyday in the 1980s, evoking nostalgia.

Aside from Keaton, other familiar faces from the original film, such as the immensely talented Catherine O’Hara and Winona Ryder. Also, adding new cast members like Jenna Ortega and Justin Theroux by the production team added to fans’ excitement.

The release sparked speculations among fans

The official pictures featuring O’Hara, Ryder, Ortega, and Theroux have sparked speculation that their presence hints at a funeral scene, potentially for Lydia’s father, Charles Deetz. However, despite these suggestions, the film’s director, Tim Burton, has refrained from commenting.

 

Instead, he has encouraged fans to patiently await the movie’s release in theaters, keeping the mystery alive until then. “That’s all I will say,” Burton explained. “There’s something that happens that sets things in motion. We’ll see.”
