Robert Wagner is taking major strides into a new year by celebrating the past. Across his career spanning over seven decades, Wagner has accumulated numerous popular credits to his name, but it was Hart to Hart he got to look back on with a surprise reunion between himself and his former co-star Stefanie Powers just in time for his 94th birthday.
February 10 marked Wagner’s 94th circuit around the sun, marked by much cause for celebration. In Hart to Hart, Wagner played Jonathan Hart from 1979 to 1984. Those 111 episodes earned him four Golden Globe Award nominations. Powers similarly enjoyed a main role in the series as Jennifer Hart, seeing these two grow as actors for half a decade together. Now, fans are treated to a friendship that is still going strong!
Earlier this week, Powers took to social media to share news of the reunion she had with Wagner for his 94th birthday. “Happy Birthday (2/10) to our dear Robert Wagner,” she celebrated in the captions. “94 and still going strong! Our latest Hart to Hart moment.”

The building they’re in offers a magnificent view of the landscape beyond, most of it bathed in sunlight. Both co-stars have married and divorced several times and even mourned the loss of their parents. But they’ve remained as close as they were when filming, which was closer than some co-stars ever get to be. “We can still push each other’s buttons today. We laugh all the time,” said Powers during a 2019 interview with Daily Mail. She classifies their relationship as one of siblings who get along very well.
“Siblings who really like each other — when we were working together, sometimes we would get into laughing fits and they’d have to send us home,” she mused.
In other words, their easy way with each other on-screen came from a very real place, and remains so potent, Powers teased, “If I knew what the ingredients were, I would bottle it and make a fortune.” She fondly also said of their chemistry, “We chose to be together. We loved each other. We adored everything about each other.”
