Christina Applegate has been living with Multiple Sclerosis since 2021 and has been open about her struggles with the condition since she announced it later that year. The mother of one has spiraled on multiple occasions, admitting that the disease has messed up her mental health and Hollywood career.
The actress currently hosts a podcast with her friend and fellow MS survivor Jamie Lynn Sigler, and their recent episode featured Applegate’s 13-year-old daughter, Sadie Grace, who revealed her own health challenge and discussed that of her mother.
Christina Applegate’s daughter shares her recent diagnosis
While discussing with Applegate and Jamie on the MeSsy podcast, Sadie announced that she was recently diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), which comes with symptoms like dizziness, weakness, and fainting. She noted that her experience has helped her further understand what Applegate goes through, as she often has similar tremors from POTS.

She recalled being unable to stand for long at school and having staff dismiss her challenges as anxiety and make her participate during gym class. Sadie admitted to missing fun moments with Applegate when they would dance together without pain. In response, Applegate apologized for being unable to do most things like they used to and assured Sadie of how much she loves her.
Applegate undoubtedly has a soft spot for her daughter, whom she shares with her husband, Martyn LeNoble. She expressed her appreciation for the young lady back in 2022 for supporting her through her illness and being a kind and loving daughter. On the podcast, Sadie mentioned that it is a pleasure helping her mom, who would hardly let her push her wheelchair.
Sadie’s father has also been present ever since Applegate came down with breast cancer in 2008, after which she got a double mastectomy and had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed. He famously wiped tears off her face during her Walk of Fame ceremony in 2022, where she received her barefoot recognition.
