For Pierce Brosnan, his wife Keely‘s birthday is an occasion for great celebration. On September 25th, Keely celebrated turning 60 and nobody celebrated with greater love and appreciation than Brosnan who showered her with gifts and words of affection.
Since kicking off her career in ’86, Keely has established herself as a TV personality, actress, journalist, producer, and director. These two powerhouses of talent first crossed paths in ’94 while Keely was conducting an interview of Ted Danson. Once they met, they connected immediately – and today still feels like that first day.

Earlier this week, Brosnan took to Instagram to celebrate Keely as she turned 60 – in a very fitting, themed way. “Sixty roses for my brown eyed girl on her 60th birthday,” he shared in the captions. “Forever happy and blessed was I to be sitting there when you walked around the corner early one morning in Cabo San Lucas @keelyshayebrosnan.”

The photo shows the vast, magnificent collection of exactly 60 roses Brosnan gifted Keely. The two are seen standing above the miniature red garden smiling at the camera, arm in arm as they have been for 22 years, as of this summer.

While this has been Keely’s only marriage, Brosnan had actually been wed once before in a relationship that ended in tragedy when his wife Cassandra Harris died in ’91. However, he found love again upon meeting Keely, with the two arranging a first date within days of first crossing paths.
“I understand why women find him sexy, because he is an appealing man,” Keely reflected, speaking with PEOPLE. “He really likes and appreciates women.” She also noted “this mischievous sparkle in his eyes” that had her able only to say “Wow!”
The pull of a magnet seemed to connect them from then on out. Brosnan even admitted, “Wherever I went in the world I missed her, and I’d send her tickets to come so we could be together. We just seemed to fit.” What makes them work, Keely feels, is that theirs is a relationship based in “love and friendship.”
Indeed, Keely is encouraging of Brosnan’s feelings regarding Cassandra. As Brosnan once revealed, “Keely has always been kind and compassionate and encouraged me to mourn Cassie. … I suppose Keely is my North Star, always looking out for me.” This arrangement is very much mutual, and here’s to another birthday for Keely – and many more – with her own North Star!
