John Mellencamp is known for a very busy and prolific music career, but along the way, he has had time for romance here and there. Most recently, Mellencamp revealed, he has entered a relationship with 57-year-old socialite Kristin Kehrberg.
Mellencamp opened up about his love life during a recent episode of Club Random with Bill Maher, a weekly podcast run by the late-night host. The two met less than a year ago but Mellencamp is head over heels for his new significant other.

Page Six was first to report on the budding relationship between Mellencamp and Kehrberg after the two were seen together attending one of Mellencamp’s family events. Representatives did not immediately respond to requests for a statement, but Mellencamp elaborated on his dating life to Maher on the August 27 episode of his podcast.

“She’s a beautiful 57-year-old woman who just walked into my apartment in New York unexpectedly,” revealed Mellencamp. “She was with a couple of friends. She walked in. She didn’t know I was going to be there. I didn’t know she was there. We met each other.”
This happened about seven months ago “and she has not left my side in seven months,” Mellencamp shared.

Maher teased Mellencamp, who had famously been in several on-and-off relationships – and sometimes marriages – with Priscilla Esterline, Victoria Granucci, Elaine Irwin, Meg Ryan, Christie Brinkley, and Jamie Sherrill. Mellencamp was right there with Maher to tease himself, saying, “It’s so hard to believe. I know,” adding of Kehrberg, “She has a really high threshold for tolerance.”
When Mellencamp and Kehrberg were spotted at his family event this August, they were both sporting casual garb: matching white shirts and black pants, with large black shades in the unfiltered sunlight. Though they have not spoken much about their relationship outside of Maher’s podcast, they were quick with affectionate gestures, always standing close, sometimes with arms drawn around one another while they were out and about.
Kehrberg is reported to be the widow of Shelter Island advertising guru Richard Tarlow. She is a multimillionaire and joined Mellencamp for a fashion show at the art school The Unincorporated Life in support of his nine-year-old granddaughter Slate.
