It’s been a year since the death of Grease star Olivia Newton-John and her daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, is now ready to take a break from grieving and move on. In a recent Instagram video, Chloe openly discussed her challenges since her mother’s passing, stating that she experienced a lot of sadness, which rubbed off on her physical appearance and health as she couldn’t focus on self-care.
โSince my momโs passing and the year and a half with her going through cancer, I have not been okay, Iโve had extreme memory loss, Iโve had difficulty getting out of bed. Iโve stuck to my commitments but I have been neglecting myself,” Lattanzi wrote in the caption. โOne of my momโs biggest messages was โTake care of you,’ if you donโt take care of you, you cannot give your full capacity of love, wisdom, kindness, and power to everyone else.โ

Following the self-realization that self-care is key, Chloe revealed that she has decided to take a three-week hiatus from social media after Olivia’s Walk for Wellnessโan annual cancer fundraising event dedicated to her mother.

โSo, after the walk, Iโm going to disappear for about three weeks,” she shared, “just to honor my mind, body, and spirit because Iโm developing a little bit of health issues in my mind and my body.”
Chloe says grieve slowly
The singer apologized to her friends and fans who worried about her attitude during the dark phase. โI just wanted to say to anyone who I have been inconsistent with, Iโm so sorry,” she wrote. “I havenโt been consistent with myself and I havenโt been taking care of myself, so in the spirit of my mother and the spirit of the Wellness Walk, Iโm going to take a month to do that so that I can be of complete service to everyone else.”
Chloe also used the opportunity to reach out to those that have lost a loved one, to remain aware of themselves and their need while they grieve. “If you needed this reminder, I hope it was helpful,” Chloe added. โIn order to take care of others, you must first start with you. This is a universal truth, a universal law, I look forward to coming home to my power. I will see you at the walk! And I look forward to health and wellness again. We never know what someoneโs inner world really looks like. Please take care of you, and your capacity for healing others and being more powerful than you ever could have imagined will follow, take it easy. Take it slow. Easy does it darlings.”
