Sandra Bullock Supported “Love of My Life” Bryan Randall To End Of His Life After ALS Battle

by Dana Daly

Published August 9, 2023

Sandra Bullock is mourning a terrible loss

Sandra Bullock is intent on keeping to the promise “in sickness and in health,” even without ever saying those words to her partner Bryan Randall. 59-year-old Bullock had previously been married to TV star Jesse James but had been with Randall since 2015.

The two never got married and Bullock said she never wanted to because she was ready to uphold those wedding vows without needing to say them in a big ceremony. She did just that, especially in recent years as Randall quietly battled ALS. Sadly, their story has turned a somber page after his recent passing.

Sandra Bullock’s longtime partner Bryan Randall passed away

Randall’s family told Page Six in a statement that Randall passed away “peacefully” on August 5. He was only 39 years and would have turned 40 later in August.

“Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private, and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request,” the family’s statement further reveals. Specifically, he had been battling ALS for three years.

It continues, “We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours.” For the immediate future, the family asks for privacy, something Randall valued greatly and something that Bullock granted him as she quietly but determinedly helped him throughout his struggles.

In recent years, Bullock famously stepped away from the spotlight to better focus on family life and being a good mother and wife to her loved ones. They never said “I do,” but Bullock and Randall were partners.

She admitted as much in 2021, gushing, “I found the love of my life. We share two beautiful children— three children, his older daughter. It’s the best thing ever. I don’t wanna say do it like I do it, but I don’t need a paper to be a devoted partner and devoted mother. I don’t need to be told to be ever present in the hardest of times. I don’t need to be told to weather a storm with a good man.”

Bullock’s sister, Gesine Bullock-Prado, knew that she was weathering the storm right beside Randall. In a tribute post on Monday, Gesine said, “ALS is a cruel disease but there is some comfort in knowing he had the best of caretakers in my amazing sister and the band of nurses she assembled who helped her look after him in their home.”

In the face of struggles, Bullock pushes herself forward – for the sake of others like Randall – by reminding herself that she is a strong woman, “And sometimes I wish it wasn’t so… sometimes I just wish I could let myself just fall apart, but it’s not my time yet. I’ll fall apart when it’s my time. I have a spirit that just says, even when things were bad, I’m like, ‘It’s gonna get better.’ I’m lucky.”
