Recently, Cher announced her collaboration with New Zealand gelato artist Gianpaolo “Giapo” Grazioli to create her own line of gelato treats. The singer’s new gelato line, branded “Cherlato”, got varying reactions from her followers and fans on social media, including jokes about the flavors. According to Cher, the company has been in the works for the past five years.
The singer made an Instagram post showing a sneak peek into what sweet tooths should expect from her new brand. “Yep, This Is Real…. I’m Launching My Gelato….Watch Out LA. All Started 5 Years Ago And Now It’s Finally HAPPENING. More To Come,” she captioned the video.
Everyone gets a ‘Cherlato’
The Cherlato ice cream truck shown in Cher’s announcement post will tour around Los Angeles daily to give everyone a taste of the new goodness. Fans can also track the truck’s movements via the website. According to a reporter who tried it out, the treat was “fantastic,” and the truck played some Cher favorites, like the “The Shoop Shoop Song.”

Each cone starts at $8, and the toppings cost a few more bucks; however, those looking for an extra experience can opt for the $10 edible gold cone. Cher swears by the taste of her product, saying, “It’s the gelato that gets you out of bed at midnight. It’s no secret that I absolutely love ice cream and gelato.”
What ‘Cherlato’ flavors are available?
The flavors Cherlato offers include the “Snap Out of It! Kefir and Cardamom,” “Breakfast at Cher’s Coffee & Donuts”, which is topped with a glazed donut, and “Chocolate XO Cher.” There is also the zanier “SoCal’s Coldest Avocado on Toast,” with creamy avocados and breadcrumbs, and a vegan option named “LA, I Love You” with bold-colored pluots as a nod to the Lakers.
The treats are gluten-free and made from local ingredients. “We’ve partnered with local farmers and artisans who share our passion for quality and sustainability,” Cher noted in another post. The “Dark Lady” singer credited her business partner, Giapo, for bringing her idea to life, calling him the “Michaelangelo of gelato.”
“When I tasted Giapo’s gelato while on tour in Auckland, New Zealand, it was the best I’d ever had. When I returned to his store the next day, he had each flavor prepared for me to taste. I loved them all,” she wrote in her statement. “If Cher loves it, America surely will!”
