In a recent interview, Bennett’s eldest son, Danny, whom he had from his first marriage with Patricia Beech, reflected on his final moments with his iconic father just before he died.

During a recent interview on Today with Hoda and Jenna, their first since the death of the “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” crooner, Danny and Tony Bennett’s current spouse, Susan Benedetto, discussed the singer’s passing. In this conversation, Danny, who served as his father’s manager, shared his father’s parting words. “His last words to me [were] ‘Thank you,'” he admitted to host Hoda Kotb. “Can’t say it better than that.”

During the discussion, Danny noted that his late father was a person who connected well with others, a part of him that was obvious to everyone around him. “And so we experienced that as kids,” Danny added. “[We] never took that for granted. It was an amazing journey.”
Susan Benedetto says he was committed to music until his death
Benedetto, who tied the knot with Bennett in 2007 after being together since the late ’80s, also shared her last memories of her beloved husband. She revealed that all through his battle with Alzheimer’s, the late singer did not slow down his career.
The third wife of the music legend also noted that Bennett remained dedicated to his musical career and his family till his death. “The music never left him,” Benedetto confessed. “That he loved me… he would wake up every day and still say that he woke up happy every day.”
