Michelle Pfeiffer has maintained ageless beauty into her 60s, therefore, it is only right to take her health tips seriously. The 65-year-old is known not only for her successful acting career but also for her stunning looks. For Michelle, one of the ways she stays pretty and trim is by eating right.
“You have to eat right. You have to exercise. You have to get sleep. We’re always looking for that magic bullet, and they don’t exist,” she shared her secret of healthy living in an interview. The actress has been open and specific about what she eats to maintain her weight and stay fit. If you’re looking to shed some pounds, here are some of Michelle’s recommendations backed by nutrition experts.
Cayenne Pepper
The mother of two once shared on her Instagram that she sprinkles cayenne pepper on her French toast. According to Cheryl Mussatto, Outpatient Clinical Dietitian at Cotton O’Neil Endocrinology and Diabetes Clinic, cayenne pepper is beneficial for weight loss and helps prevent overeating.

“Cayenne pepper is a type of ‘fiery’ spice that adds heat to foods and may help with weight loss. Any spicy foods, such as cayenne pepper, jalapeño peppers, and other chili peppers, contain capsaicin, which helps rev up metabolism a bit, helping to burn a few extra calories,” Cheryl said. “These same foods can also create a feeling of satiety after eating, preventing overeating of high-calorie foods.”
Breakfast

Health experts say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and Michelle agrees. Weeks ago, she posted a photo of her first meal of the day: “Riverence trout Eggs, avocado, chestnut bread, turmeric & cayenne pepper. Breakfast of champions!” she exclaimed in the caption.
Taylor Carberry, RDN, CPT, affirms that “Eating a well-balanced breakfast provides the fuel to start your morning with the energy and brain power you need to make healthier choices for the rest of the day.” The health expert also added that breakfast replenishes the body with morning nourishment, as you have fasted since the day before.
Alcohol
We all — including Michelle — love a nice glass of wine here and there, but too much alcohol does no good. Michelle admits she can tell when she’s having too much of it and re-adjusts her intake.
“When I’m not on camera, I’m not eating so good and having a little too much wine, and I look like it,” she told Express. Carberry said that alcohol is high in calories but low in nutrients, therefore, it’s unhealthy for people looking to lose weight. “By avoiding alcohol, you eliminate empty calories from your diet and are less likely to put on extra weight,” the nutrition expert said.
Fish
The “Riverence trout eggs” in Michelle’s breakfast post on Instagram are from a sustainable farm that helps reduce the stress on wild salmon and trout. Health expert Sam Schleiger says fish is an excellent source of protein and essential fatty acids that reduce cardiovascular disease risk and improve brain health.
Sweets
The actress also admits to indulging in sweets and snacks often but in moderation. On her social media, Michelle revealed that she had a bag of peanut M&M’s and baked a cherry pie.
Cesar Sauza, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist at Healthcanal.com, says that “balance and moderation is everything because it is exactly how our body works, everything needs to be in balance for our body to work at its best.” He added that walnuts and avocados are very healthy but should be eaten in limited portions due to their high-calorie content.
