Steve Irwin’s son, Robert Irwin, is committed to wildlife conservation, as he shares an immense love for animals and the natural world. Just like his father, the 19-year-old’s interaction with wildlife knows no bounds as he continually risks his life.
Recently, Robert revealed that he encountered an occupational hazard when he found himself in a snake rescue situation that eerily mirrored an incident his father had experienced but narrowly escaped the same predicament.
The young conservationist took to his Instagram page to share two videos in an attempt to recount his harrowing experience. In the first clip, a wild carpet python sank its fangs into his face during his valiant attempt to save it, while a second video showed his father being bitten on the face by the very same species of snake.
“Déjà vu. Dad and me getting bitten by the same species of snake (carpet python) decades apart,” Robert wrote in the caption. “I found this python on the side of a road, but as you can see, sometimes snake rescues don’t quite go to plan.”
This recent post by Robert comes after he made a candid revelation about his profound fascination with gravestones and memorials. Delving into this topic, he openly discussed the allure and intrigue he finds in these tangible reminders of history and personal legacies.
In a series of photographs that he shared on his Instagram page, the young conservationist posed next to an array of mausoleums and gravestones. He confessed that his quest was to find deceased individuals who shared his name. “Roberts of the world… a thread [sic],” he captioned the post.
