Mark Hamill is best known for his iconic portrayal of Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars before later reprising the role in the sequel trilogy. His life and career have indeed been legendary, filled with numerous achievements and contributions to the world of entertainment.
Recently, during the premiere of his new movie, The Machine, comedian Bert Kreischer who had always acknowledged the actor as one of his childhood idols, revealed in an interview with Fox News Digital that he had the opportunity of relating with Hamill, who played the role of his on-screen father in the film. “It’s crazy to have Mark Hamill as my dad,” he admitted to the news outlet.
The actor says he had a wild talk with Mark Hamill on a flight to Serbia
Kreischer stated that he had a wild experience with the star during their trip together, explaining that he got the chance to ask all the questions about other celebrities he was curious about. “It was crazy to get on a private jet with him to Serbia and sit down drunk and go, ‘All right, let’s talk trash. What’s Harrison Ford really like? Did Carrie Fisher party?’” Kreischer admitted. “Mark is so generous with his time, and he makes sure that he gives you everything you want and a little more.”

In another interview with Looper, the 50-year-old revealed that it was very shocking for him to work with his childhood hero on his new movie. “This is going to sound crazy, but he’s such a talented actor that he could get me to act better. In scenes, he’d give me these moments of these fatherly speeches. [In] one scene, I cried, and I wasn’t even on camera; I was just reading lines with him,” Kreischer confessed. “It was his solo shot, and I started crying, and the director’s like, “Holy s***, flip it around.”
“Let’s get Bert crying.’ I was like, I don’t know how that happened. They’re like, What? I was like, Mark did something with his eyes that made me cry, so I can’t do that,” he said. “You got to get Mark to do the things with his eyes. Mark’s like, You mean, act? And I went, ‘Yeah, can you act? Because then that makes me act. I can’t act without you acting.'”
Bert Kreischer says he never planned to make his movie
Kreischer revealed that making the movie, The Machine was not something he really planned for. “This is an accident, my life is like – I’m like a drunk Forrest Gump,” he admitted. “It was an accident, to be honest with you. All of it was an accident,” he said. “I was doing Dr. Drew one night, and someone from my class called up and was like, ‘Hey, why don’t you tell him about the time you robbed your class?’ And I was like, ‘Oh, yeah!’”
He also claimed that he was hesitant to even bring the movie idea to production houses. “Even selling this movie, I went into Legendary, and I pitched three other movies, and he was like, ‘Which one?’ And I’m like, ‘If I’m going to get to make a movie, I kind of want to make ‘The Machine,’” Kreischer added. “He was like, ’Why didn’t you pitch that?’ And I was like, ‘I don’t know, I’m afraid I’ll get kidnapped by the Russian mafia,’ and he was like, ‘Sold!'”
