Pink has recently opened up about an event that happened in her life in an interview with Variety magazine. The 43-year-old also shed some light on her bounce back to normal after her surgery and the weight she gained during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown.
The singer explained to the news outlet that taking time off was a good thing and it helped her voice but not her body. “Having breaks is good for my voice. Not so good for the body. Especially during COVID — I gained 36 lbs,” she said. “All I did was make sourdough and then eat the sourdough. And then I had not just the hip surgery but double disc replacement in my neck.”
Pink speaks about her surgery and her recovery
She had hip surgery on Nov. 8, 2021, at the Steadman Clinic in Vail, CO, and took to her Instagram to share the detail of the procedure with her fans. “Hey, world!” Pink wrote in the caption alongside a picture of herself rocking an all-black shorts and tank top combo.”This is what 9 hours of sleep and cuddles from my kiddos looks like 7 days post hip surgery!!”

Pink also took time out to appreciate her husband, Carey Hart who also had surgery two months before hers. “I am never not completely grateful. It was a brutal first week full of tears and pain med depression, ulcers from meds, and constant fevers, but my @hartluck brought me through,” she added. “(No one recovers from surgery like he does, he’s not real.) he brought me coffee in the shower, lugged around my 100 pound CPM contraptions everywhere I went, dried my tears, cooked me oatmeal, kept track of my meds, got me my phone charger, plugged in my compression machines, took my temp, made the bed, and talked me off the ledge.”
The singer further detailed that she has recovered and she is ready to go about her normal business, “Now I’m the bionic woman. I’ve lost those 36 pounds, and I am stronger than I’ve ever been in my life. And I’m ready to go, and I’m ready to get the hell out of here. I’ve been home way too long.”
Pink battled COVID-19 and her father’s death
In early 2020 at the height of the pandemic, Pink and her second child, Jameson were diagnosed with serious cases of COVID-19 while her husband, Carey Hart also had a chest infection in 2022. The professional motorcyclist shared the news on Instagram at the time. The 43-year-old also lost her father to prostate cancer in 2021. “I know sometimes I have a tendency to remember the bad s–t,” she detailed her relationship with her father in an interview with Women’s Health. “I want to try to hold on to the good; there was a lot of good.”
Pink revealed in an Instagram post that all the challenges she faced have made her gain more perspectives about life and the fact that everyone needs help. “Life always reminds you that most setbacks are actually just pauses and opportunities to recalibrate and count your blessings,” she wrote. “I’m learning the gift of accepting help. My journey will be quick and intentional, And I will make a full recovery. For that, I am so blessed.”
