How addiction and looks might have impacted Lisa Marie’s health
On the Golden Globe red carpet, the late singer appeared uneasy as she spoke with Billy Bush from Extras. To gain her balance, Lisa requested to lean on her friend and former manager of her father, Jerry Schilling, who was beside her at the ceremony. “I’m gonna grab your arm,” the late singer told Jerry during her interview.
However, TMZ revealed that prior to the Award ceremony, the late singer invested some time, energy, and money in improving her look as she promoted her father’s biopic, Elvis. In a bid to stay through to her plans, the 54-year-old reportedly started using weight loss medication with the goal of losing 40-50 pounds ahead of the event. While some reports detailed that the late singer also had plastic surgery two months before the award ceremony.
Also, sources close to the late Lisa Marie revealed that she battled depression during her last days, and she allegedly relapsed into her former struggles with opioid addiction.
Events following the late singer’s death
In a report by Extra, a frantic 911 call was made from Lisa Marie Presley’s residence before her untimely death. Her housekeeper and her ex-husband, Danny Keough, who had reportedly tried to resuscitate her with CPR, made the emergency call.
She was rushed to West Hills Hospital, where she suffered a second heart attack, per TMZ. A medical report detailed that Lisa Marie was brain-dead on arrival, and this prompted her family to sign a “do not resuscitate” order. Lisa Marie died at the hospital and has been buried in her father’s Graceland estate, next to him and her late son, Benjamin Keough.
The late singer’s will has faced pushback from her mother, Priscilla, who claims some inaccuracies. TMZ reported that Lisa Marie made Priscilla and former manager Barry Siegel her trustees in 2010 but changed this in 2016.
The new amendment made her kids, Riley and Benjamin, who passed in 2020, her new trustees. Priscilla said her name was misspelled in the amendment, which was never even delivered to her. She also added that Lisa Marie’s signature appears inconsistent; hence the amendment should be declared invalid.
