When it comes to the Magic Kingdom, there’s no denying that there’s a certain obsession people have with it — especially kids — perhaps viewing that “world” as a kind of escape from this one. At the same time, given the changing economy and rising admission prices, actually visiting Disney World puts a tremendous amount of financial strain on families, which raises the question of how people handle the constant desire of themselves—and their children—to go visit Mickey Mouse and friends.
Some have come up with … shall we say … “unique” solutions, although one man, Baica Crisan, went overboard with his tricks to get his son into the theme park for free. Unlike previously foiled attempts by the park’s security team, this particular instance was exceptional in that this father is facing legal jeopardy.
What offense did Crisan commit?
According to a report by the Orange County sheriff’s office, Crisan tried sneaking through the gate without going through the normal security check or showing a ticket to gain access. As soon as his cover was blown, the Romanian citizen took to his heels, and every attempt by the security manager to stop him for questioning proved futile.

To escape the situation, Crisan pushed away security personnel who had almost caught up with him, continuing his hoped-for getaway. A Disney investigator also followed in the pursuit and tried to keep pace with him so as to engage him in a conversation about the situation. Instead, Crisan physically assaulted him, too. Luckily the two Disney employees weren’t injured, but the 37-year-old feigned ignorance throughout the engagement, conveying he didn’t understand or communicate in English. However, the sheriff’s report says that, in truth, he “has a good command of the English language.”
How Crisan was arrested
After the failed attempt by the two Disney security workers, they contacted the office of the Orange County Sheriff, who assisted in Crisan’s arrest. CCTV footage of the park reviewed by the sheriff’s office revealed “Crisan walking through the front entrance with one child without using ticket media of any kind and not paying for admission. The cost of admission for both would have been $210.”
After a thorough investigation, the 37-year-old had no choice but to drop his language barrier facade. Noted the sheriff’s office, “A little over two hours later, Crisan began to speak and understand English.” It’s a miracle, we tell ya!
Disney Filed a lawsuit against the trespasser
Crisan, who is actually a resident of Virginia, is set to face consequences for his actions. According to an official statement from the sheriff’s office, a two-count misdemeanor battery charge was levied against him, which Crisan pleaded not guilty to.
At last report, Crisan is being held at Orange County Jail while awaiting his sentence. Also, the two Disney security officials that had an encounter with him during the incident are willing to testify in court so that the hearing can proceed smoothly.
