In just a few weeks, Tim Allen‘s Santa is back. Tim stars in the new series The Santa Clauses, based on the 1994 film The Santa Clause and its sequels The Santa Clause 2 and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause.
The show is set about 30 years after the original film as Tim’s character Scott Calvin decides to retire as Santa Claus and starts looking for a replacement. He has to readjust to life outside of the North Pole and things seem to go badly after he chooses the wrong replacement.
Tim Allen was excited to return to the set as Santa Claus
Many of the original cast members, including Tim, are returning for the show. Eric Lloyd, who plays Scott’s son Charlie, is set to return. Tim’s real-life daughter Elizabeth Allen-Dick will play his daughter, along with Austin Kane as his other son. Elizabeth Mitchell will return as Carol/Mrs. Clause and David Krumholtz returns as elf Bernard.

Tim shared, “To be on set again with so many of the original cast (more to come eventually) was like seeing family again. It’s almost as if time had stood still other than my age. I look younger now in the Santa makeup than I do out of it.”
In addition to some of the original cast members returning, fans can expect to see some exciting cameos including Peyton Manning. Tim shared about working with Peyton, “I am a huge football fan so the scenes with Manning were surreal. I was in full Santa gear and in character so Tim Allen never had the chance to be a fan. The dude is too tall and too funny!”
The first two episodes premiere on Disney+ on Nov. 16. Watch the trailer below:
