On July 5, Carlos Santana was in the middle of his concert set at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan when he collapsed. He appeared to sit down and then passed out. Medical staff rushed to his side and he was taken to the emergency room at McLaren Clarkston.
A few hours after the scary incident, his team updated fans that he was doing well and had been suffering from heat exhaustion and dehydration. A day later, his wife, Cindy Blackman Santana shared an update on how the 74-year-old is doing now.

She said, “Please know that he’s resting and doing very well! He was diagnosed with heat exhaustion & dehydration … it was 100 degrees on stage and 114 under the lights so that coupled with not enough water is what caused the issue. He’ll be as good as new soon! Thank you again and we love you!”

Santana added that he had forgotten to eat and drink water before the show. Coupled with such hot weather and his age, his body shut down. Luckily, he is recovering and it sounds like he should be back on the road soon. After passing out, he was seen waving to the crowd as he was taken away on a stretcher.
Santana postponed his July 6 show but will continue on with his tour as soon as he can. He is currently touring with his band Earth, Wind & Fire. Hoping Satana makes a full recovery very soon!
