Fans of Today are struggling to hold back tears after Hoda Kotb’s emotional reaction on Instagram. She recently took to Instagram to share with fans how she celebrated Mother’s Day, with her own little bundles of joy, Haley Joy, 5, and Hope Catherine, 3. In a post, she captioned a video of herself being led down the stairs by her two daughters with, “Mother’s day came early. Lucky me ❤️❤️#melting.”
Halfway down the stairs, her daughters stopped her to show her a note that read “Happy Mother’s Day.” There was also a stunning display set up in the living room, consisting of coffee, water, and another note. Her daughter, Haley, also broke out into song, singing “Happy Mother’s Day” to the tune of “Happy Birthday.” Sniffling can be heard in the background, which we’re all assuming is a very choked up and emotional mama!
Fans couldn’t help but feel Hoda’s joy, too. “Omg. I’m not crying…. Is anyone crying? So precious. You deserve this,” one fan comments. Another says, “They planned all by themselves??? The sweetest. ❤️.” Even co-anchor Al Roker, overwhelmed with emotion, simply wrote, “Stop.”
Hoda adopted Haley in 2017 and Hope in 2019, with her then-fiancé, Joel Schiffman. The couple had previously been together for eight years, and at one time, had been planning on getting married, but suddenly broke it off in early 2022. She expressed no ill will towards her ex-fiancé. On Today, the host shared, “We decided that we are going to start this new year and begin it kind of on our new path as loving parents to our adorable, delightful children, and as friends. It’s not like something happened. They say sometimes relationships are meant to be there for a reason or a season or for a lifetime. And I feel like ours was meant to be there for a season.”
