At 63, the Valerie's Home Cooking host is addressing comments made by her followers on social media after she switched between using and avoiding filters - and even was told she had to be wearing a wig. Bertinelli stands out as one of the most vocal advocates in the body positivity movement while facing numerous disparaging comments along the way. "Someone...decided to point out that I need to lose weight," she shared of her experience reading body shaming comments, adding, "You think I'm not tired of it, lady? Where's the compassion?" After much introspection, Bertinelli says she has "never felt more beautiful, more at peace, more mentally and emotionally stable than I do today." "Sometimes I use filter, and sometimes I don't. Most of the time, I do use filter because this is me with no makeup, and this is no filter." She went on, "Can you get me a wig without flipping gray roots then, please, because I'm tired of getting my roots done every two weeks." She then gave a shoutout to those who only spread positivity online, adding, "Thank goodness 99.9 percent of you are really kind, sweet people and don't give a flying flip whether I have roots or I put a filter on. But some of y'all need to chill out, ok? I mean seriously." I don’t know why I kept them, but now I’m glad I did."
