Reba McEntire is celebrating a major television milestone. Twenty-five years after Reba first premiered, the country music legend looked back on the sitcom that introduced viewers to the Hart family and became a lasting favorite for fans of early-2000s television.

According to iHeart, the Reba sitcom anniversary arrives on Oct. 5, exactly 25 years after the series debuted in 2001. McEntire marked the occasion on Instagram with a message of gratitude, thanking viewers for welcoming the Hart family into their homes and for the memories the show created over its six-season run.

In Reba, McEntire played Reba Hart, a divorced mother of three navigating family life in Houston, Texas. The ensemble included Christopher Rich as her ex-husband, Melissa Peterman as his new wife and Reba’s unlikely friend, Steve Howey as her son-in-law, and JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Scarlett Pomers, and Mitch Holleman as her children.

The sitcom ran from 2001 until February 2007, building its humor around the Hart family’s complicated relationships and Reba’s ability to handle chaos with warmth and sharp timing. McEntire’s anniversary post focused on that shared history, celebrating both the cast and the fans who helped keep the series memorable long after its finale.

McEntire has since found another sitcom home with Happy’s Place, where she stars as Bobbie. The series has also given longtime Reba fans several familiar faces to enjoy again. Peterman appears as part of the regular cast, while Rich, Howey, and Garcia Swisher have all returned for guest appearances. That crossover has made the Reba sitcom anniversary feel even more nostalgic. Instead of existing only as a memory from the early 2000s, parts of the original cast continue to reconnect through McEntire’s current television work, creating a bridge between two different eras of her acting career.

McEntire has also spoken about what she believes makes a sitcom work, emphasizing strong writing and emotional range. For her, a successful comedy needs more than jokes; audiences should be able to laugh, cry, and feel something genuine. That balance helps explain why Reba still resonates 25 years later. The series blended family conflict, humor, and heartfelt moments, creating a show that became a lasting part of television nostalgia.
