Heather Locklear, 65, Reunites With Her ‘Dynasty’ Baby 43 Years Later And Finally Apologizes

Heather Locklear, 65, has just reconnected with the baby she carried through Carrington family drama 43 years ago. Matthew Lawrence, 46, revealed on his Brotherly Love podcast that he recently ran into his Dynasty mother, and that she remembered him for a reason that has stuck with her for four decades. “My first job was on Dynasty,” Lawrence said, according to Entertainment Weekly. “Heather Locklear’s baby, from Dynasty. They brought me in, and I was the baby.”

Lawrence played Danny Carrington, the infant son of Locklear’s Sammy Jo, in a December 1984 episode midway through the show’s fifth season. It was his first time on camera. He was four years old.

The reunion came with an apology that was 43 years in the making. Lawrence explained that one scene called for Sammy Jo to rush her son away from a bad situation, and in the hurry Locklear bumped his head on a taxi. “I guess there was a scene where she had to whisk me away from the guy,” he said, “and she hit my head on the cab.”

When they met again, Locklear brought it up right away. “Oh my gosh, I hit your head as a baby and it was one of the worst days of my life,” Lawrence recalled her saying. His answer was the one any grown man would give to a worried mom. “And I was like, ‘Oh, I’m fine.'” Closer Weekly reported that the moment had clearly troubled her for decades, which says a lot about the woman behind television’s most famous schemer.

Two Careers That Started On Aaron Spelling’s Watch

Locklear joined Dynasty in 1981 for what was supposed to be a four-episode arc, became a full-time cast member and stayed until the series ended in 1989, all while playing Officer Stacy Sheridan on T.J. Hooker. Her run as Amanda Woodward on Melrose Place followed. She has kept a low profile in recent years, which makes every sighting an event, including the rare candid photo that stunned fans this fall.

Lawrence went on to Boy Meets World and Brotherly Love, the 1990s sitcom he shared with his brothers Joey and Andy. The three now revisit it episode by episode on the podcast of the same name, which is where the Locklear story surfaced.

Sammy Jo did a great many things on Dynasty that she never apologized for. Bumping a little boy’s head on a cab door was apparently not one of them.
