Kelly Ripa has some unconventional relationship advice

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have been married for almost 30 years, but their latest on-air moment showed that they still know how to laugh together. During a recent episode of Live With Kelly & Mark, Ripa joked about starting an “airport divorce” after clashing with her husband over their different travel habits. The funny exchange quickly got fans talking.

As reported by Parade, the idea came up when Ripa told Consuelos, “Couples are doing something unique, and I think we could do well with this. An airport divorce.” Her comment made the audience laugh, while Consuelos looked confused and asked what she meant. That’s when Ripa explained her new idea.

Ripa said an “airport divorce” happens when couples arrive at the airport together but part ways until they meet again at the gate. The concept came from their very different travel styles. Ripa teased that her husband likes to get to the airport far too early—sometimes “between four and sixteen hours” before a flight. Consuelos denied it, but their friendly debate kept viewers entertained.

She also shared that he gets frustrated when things move slowly, while he insisted she was exaggerating. Their back-and-forth highlighted how long they’ve been together and how well they balance humor with honesty. In the end, Consuelos laughed and said, “Alright, let’s move on,” wrapping up the moment with a smile.
