Brooke Shields recently appeared on The View, where she shared some of her favorite behind-the-scenes moments from the set of Friends. She admitted to having a crush on Matthew Perry, hence why she wanted to be a part of the cast so she could get him to like her back.
She recalled how Perry would run and throw himself on the floor in front of a girl, pretending to look up her skirt. Brooke found this amusing and decided to recreate the joke but pretended to look up his pants instead. The late star found Brooke’s move funny, and his reaction confirmed that.
Brooke Shields tried to impress Matthew Perry while filming ‘Friends’
Aside from trying to catch Perry’s eye, Brooke loved the bond the major Friends cast shared and wanted in on it. They had too many inside jokes, and Brooke felt slightly left out despite her admiration for their friendship. Her attempt to recreate Perry’s prank would have ended awkwardly as she stayed on the floor unnoticed for many seconds.
Thankfully, Perry, in his kind nature, applauded her joke, and the grazed knees Brooke suffered in the process felt worth it. Brooke was only on set briefly for season two, where she played Erika Ford.
What is Brooke Shields up to?
Brooke will be releasing her new book, Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old, soon. The piece addresses society’s expectations of women as they reach a certain age, and Brooke, who turns 60 in May, has been at the receiving end of such societal standards. She believes her later years are for enjoyment and rest, not merely surviving.
Other books by Shields include On Your Own, which advises growing teens on grooming, dating, and schoolwork. Per her acting career, Brooke’s last known appearance was in 2024’s Mother Of The Bride, where she played Lana alongside Benjamin Bratt’s Will.
