The Los Angeles fires have consumed several properties, estates, and buildings, including Ryan O’Neal’s estate, which he used to share with Farrah Fawcett in Malibu. Ryan O’Neal’s daughter, Tatum O’Neal, shared the news on social media, expressing how sad and heartbroken she was over such a loss.
The wildfires began on January 7, with the Palisades fire in Pacific Palisades and the Eaton fire near Altadena, and it has scorched over 40,000 acres, destroying more than 12,000 structures. Firefighters and EMTs are still fighting the fire courageously, while evacuation plans have also been implemented to prevent further loss of life.
Ryan O’Neal’s estate in Malibu destroyed by LA fires
Tatum O’Neal announced to the public that her father’s house in Malibu had been burned down to ashes in the Los Angeles fires. “It’s the saddest ever so sad I could cry. My father’s house is gone Malibu gone. Gone gone gone gone. It’s so scary. I am so freaking sad.” She wrote on Threads.
Ryan O’Neal died from congestive heart failure in December 2023, 14 years after Farrah Fawcett passed from cancer in 2009. When Fawcett was alive, both spent most of their time in Ryan’s Malibu estate. The estate was worth about $30 billion, with the beach house worth $5 billion. Sadly, the piece of Fawcett’s and O’Neal’s love story has been lost to the raging wildfire.
Other celebrities lose their houses to the fires
Ryan O’Neal’s estate was not the only property destroyed in the wildfires. Other celebrities have also lost their homes and valuables in the fire, including Joshua Jackson. The Dawson’s Creek star shared how grateful he is for the safety of his loved ones and him. “Sadly, my beautiful home did not survive the fires. But today, I feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by the people I love.” Jackson shared.
Ricki Lake, Melissa Gibson, Paris Hilton, and Heidi Montag have also lost their houses to the wildfires, while others, including John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, and Ashley Tisdale, have been forced to evacuate their homes due to the likelihood of being destroyed by fire.
Not only have the residents of Malibu and the areas affected by the wildfires lost their properties, but some of their houses held the memories of times and seasons in their lives. Some have also been hit by financial instability as a result of the fire.
