Game developer John C. Worsley is back with another Star Trek Christmas rendition featuring characters from the original series singing John Lennon and the Plastic Ono band’s “Happy Xmas (War Is Over) song. He created this using individual words said by characters across different scenes.
John previously created Picard singing a Christmas carol to Q using scenes from Star Trek: The Next Generation. This was hilarious as Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Q were not on friendly terms. The creation from three years ago has gotten nearly 800,000 views on YouTube.
‘Star Trek’ cover of ‘Happy Xmas (War Is Over) is a masterpiece
“Warp Is Over If You Want It.,” John wrote in the description of Star Trek’s rendition of “Happy Xmas (War Is Over).” The video lasted 165 minutes, featuring the characters of William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, James Doohan, Nichelle Nichols, Walter Koenig, George Takei, Majel Barrett, and more.
John credited the use of software like FFmpeg, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, and even his cups of coffee for bringing the mash-up to life. Although many fan-favorite characters sang their part, the Starfleet’s yeoman was missing, and viewers hardly minded it.
