Nicole Chalawich was excited to share a time capsule she discovered in her parent’s house to her TikTok, garnering reactions of shock and admiration from users. Nicole realized her sister’s bedroom had remained untouched since she moved out in the ‘80s.
She did a little tour of the room showing posters on the wall, a small window with curtains, and her bed still properly made. Among the many poster photos up was that of the bands White Snake, Def Leppard and Motley Crue.
See this teenage bedroom from the ‘80s frozen in time
@treevibenana My sisters room was kept just as it was when she left home as a teenager! Literally nothing removed. It was like stepping back in time to when I was a teenager!!! #timecapsule #timetravel #backintime #ilovemysister #1980s #genx #defleppard #richardmarx #miamivice #cabbagepatchkids #johnnydepp #posters #80sgirl #1980something #hauntedhouse ♬ original sound – Tree Vibe Nana
The room was also filled with toys, magazines, and even a Miami Vice poster on the wall. “My sister’s room was kept just as it was when she left home as a teenager! Literally, nothing removed. It was like stepping back in time to when I was a teenager!!!” her caption read.
Nicole’s followers took to the comments as her likes seem to be hitting 900,000. “Amazing that room and those posters stood the test of time. I had some of the same posters on my walls in my teens in the mid-1980s. I still love the music from those days because it was the best,” someone reminisced.
Nicole and her sister just found each other last year after a DNA test result revealed that they share, she said, some dad. They grew up five miles away from each other and under strict supervision from grandparents. They now have kids of their own, who coincidentally share similar names.
The home belonging to their uncle was liveable, while one room was closed after several relatives passed away. Nicole’s sister now owns the property, which is why she asked him to visit. “This was literally every 80s teenager bedroom, posters wall to wall, my room was lit lmao, omfg I miss them days,” one of Nicole’s nostalgic followers.
