Demi Moore posted a carousel of behind-the-scenes photos from the set of The Substance, where she played Elisabeth McSparkle. The film star looked unrecognizable as she was made up to look old and frail, with thin wisps of hair appearing to sprout out of her scalp.
It was a fitting photo for Halloween, and Demi took the chance to wish her followers via her caption. “Spoiler alert…Been holding onto these gems…and today feels like an appropriate day to share them. Happy Halloween from Elisabeth Sparkle,” she wrote.

Playing Elisabeth
The movie follows the life of 50-year-old Elisabeth, who lost her job on her birthday due to aging and tries to get her youth back using a black market drug. The substance creates another young version of her played by Margaret Qualley, however, Elisabeth starts to age faster and her other self moves to Los Angeles for work.
The Coralie Fargeat-directed film has seen majorly good ratings so far, as it received a 13-minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival in May. It also hopes to win the Golden Globe category for comedy and musical, while some viewers consider Demi eligible for the Best Actress award for her stellar performance.
