Princess Charlotte arrived at her mother’s Christmas Carol concert on Friday wearing a red coat dress, pantyhose, and a pair of black sandals. The 9-year-old caused a stir among fans as she looked at a photographer in a fashion that reminded them of Lady Diana.
Viewers with keen eyes caught the moment Princess Charlotte put on the piercing Diana star, and in no time, the little monarch went viral on social media. Someone placed Charlotte and Diana’s photos side-by-side, proving they look alike.
Fans react as Princess Charlotte does the side-eye like Diana
Debates about the resemblance between Charlotte and the late Diana began online after the comparison photo of both royals went viral. “Aww, that’s special. The legend lives on,” someone simply quipped. “The eyes are the window to the soul. This beautiful young girl has an old soul. I can see it,” another gushed.
Some argued that Charlotte shares no uncanny resemblance with Diana but looks more like the late Queen Elizabeth II. “She has the wisest eyes. I see Queen Elizabeth II in her,” a third user gushed, while a few argued that Charlotte does not look happy for a girl her age.
Charlotte is named after her grandmother Diana
Interestingly, Prince William and Kate gave Charlotte the middle name Diana to honor the former’s mother. The future king admitted that he often tells Charlotte and her brothers William and Louis stories about Diana, adding that it is important that they learn about her.
A few social media users spotted another similarity between Charlotte and Diana at the holiday event, noting that they both stand in a similar batlet pose. Like Diana, who became a patron of the English National Ballet, Charlotte loved ballet and has been taking weekly private classes at a South London dance school.
