Donny Osmond became popular by teaming up with his brothers’ band, The Osmonds, however his sister Marie Osmond started her solo music career at 14 and topped the billboard chat with her debut album, Paper Roses. Although, Marie and Donny had different music careers, the siblings performed a duet before launching their variety show Donny and Marie which aired on ABC from 1976 to 1979.
The duo recorded 13 albums and 12 singles together, and their collaboration influenced the production of merchandise like dolls and microphones. Earlier this year, Marie shared her plans to quit touring and pursue other dreams. Following Marie’s touring news, a close source disclosed that Donny is begging Marie for one last tour.

The insider shared that Donny is planning to organize a farewell tour, but he needs the support of her sister, to pull it off successfully. However, Marie is maintaining her stance on taking a break from touring, and she is not interested in collaborating with her brother or relieve memories from their past to make profit.
The insider added that fans have been wishing for a special Donny and Marie comeback, but the 65-year-old “Marie is focused on new projects and isn’t willing to go backward.”

Asides from the juicy monetary prospect of the tour, Donny sees the event as a way for he and Marie to connect with their loyal fan base who have supported them over the decades. However, it seems Marie is embracing a more private life these days and would like to keep it that way.
Interestingly, Donny is still pumped about being in the spotlight, “Donny’s always been the show pony,” a source explained. “He thrives in the spotlight, while Marie’s perfectly content enjoying life away from the stage. She’s all about family and friends now. But for Donny? Performing is in his DNA — he NEEDS the crowd!” For now, the 66-year-old’s representative confirmed that “there is no farewell tour” planned at the moment.
