Halsey says she will be impersonating a new icon every day until the release of her upcoming album, The Great Impersonator, later this month. She will also accompany her cosplay with snippets from their music, and post consistently on Instagram for most of October.
Halsey’s first act was Dolly Parton, and she looked just like the country music star in a huge curly blonde wig, a sleeveless outfit with matching gloves, and some makeup. It was a recreation of Dolly’s 1987 Rainbow album cover, and fans could not get over how spot-on it was.

Halsey noted via her caption that Dolly inspired track number 9 titled “Hometown.” She also acknowledged the team that put the gorgeous look together, as one can hardly tell the difference between the ‘80s cover and her remake. “the dolly smile too,” a fan gushed.
Dolly herself was in the comments with a red heart emoji, proving she loved the act. “I love very much this idea to promote your new project, this is so exciting!!!’ another exclaimed. “You have no idea how much this means to me and my Dolly Parton heart,” a third comment read.
More icons to impersonate
After debuting her impersonation project with a Dolly album cover recreation, Halsey paid tribute to PJ Harvey, who inspired her third track titled “Dog Years.” “One of my absolute favorite songs on the album, inspired by one of the most influential artists of my lifetime,” she noted.
Next came Kate Bush for track 10 “I Never Loved You,” and fans cannot wait for the many looks ahead. “The sheer amount of outfit changes and photoshoots this must have required to have a different icon to pull off EVERY DAY???? no one works harder than ashley Nicolette frangipane,” one of Halsey’s followers gushed in the comments.
