Cher has been known for her controversial relationships, the most recent being with 38-year-old Alexander “AE” Edwards. She has clapped back at critics multiple times on social media, proving she does not care about their age gap.
The actress posted a loved-up photo of herself and AE shortly after the news of her legal standing with her son broke. She was denied the conservatorship of Elijah Blue Allman, who she shares with her second husband, Gregg Allman, but that did not stop her from showing off her young lover.

In the post captioned “Love is Love,” Cher held on to AE’s chin as she straddled him while looking into his eyes. She had her other arm around his back while he held her closer by the waist. With nearly four million views and 16,000 likes, the post received almost a thousand comments, some praising Cher while others questioned her.

A fan commended her relationship, writing, “You seem so happy, and that’s the only important thing. I love seeing it! Sometimes happiness is so hard to find, you take it where you find it and don’t apologize for it. That’s one of the many things I love and respect about you.”
However, the post was also met with backlash. “So sorry to hear your son Elijah is missing, hope you can break away long enough to help with the search,” someone wrote. “Really, @cher? Act like a mother for once in your life!” another added.
Courts will reconsider Cher’s filing
According to Cher’s statement to the court, her son cannot have sole control of his finances “due to severe mental health and substance abuse issues.” Unfortunately, her request to preside over Elijah’s money was denied on January 5 after the Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled that her son’s lawyers did not receive sufficient documents to make their case.
There will be another hearing on January 29 to reconsider the conservatorship, which Cher’s attorney describes as “a life-and-death proposition.” Cher petitioned to handle Elijah’s estate, which is worth $120,000. However, his filing also stated that he did not “need her unsolicited help or support at this time.” The “I Got You Babe” singer admitted she did not discuss her intentions with her son as “he is unable to form or express a preference concerning the appointment of a temporary conservator for his estate.”
