A group of daring senior women at Linden Ponds Senior Living Community in Hingham bared it all to raise money for the Resident Care Fund at the facility. The ladies, who are between the ages of 69 and 92, successfully drew attention to their new calendar with their risque poses.
They had fun being free and controversial in their varying themes and costumes for the shoot. “Who knows what’s going to happen in the future? So I say let’s get out there and sell as many calendars, and with your help, we will do that,” Miss Carole Walt, who posed for February, said.
They loved it
Some of the women gushed about their experience creating the pieces, including Miss Judie Hass of December. “I was in the bar on a Sunday morning, and you know, I was a Playboy bunny,” she told WBZ-TV. “I had it done twice because the first time the book wasn’t high enough, and I said I have 21-and 25-year-old grandsons,” September’s Suzanne Monk added.

March’s model, Sandy Creaser, did hers in secret, though “it’s not a problem” because she is unmarried. “I had to make my own prop. I had a quilt,” she quipped. Miss August, Deni Janey, wanted to add ducks to her pool-themed photo, but her idea was turned down. “They said no, too hokey. So then I got to splashing, and that’s what made the effect,” she explained.
It got people talking
Seeing senior women strip down confidently for photos is not something that happens every other day; hence, the Linden Ponds ladies had people talking—which was the point. “Their friends, the children’s friends, young women in their 20s and 30s, that have been the most remarkable, saying ‘that it is so cool that you did that, you go girl,'” Miss November.
Sandy Tuthill gushed while Nalora “Lo” Steele said her late husband “would have loved it.” The thoughtfully made calendars are selling well, giving hope and providing resources to accommodate more people in the care center.
