Recently, Dwayne Johnson’s mother, Ata Johnson, was involved in a car accident in Los Angeles. The actor claimed that his mum had a near-miss experience with death and declared that the “angels” protected her during the traumatic situation.
The Fast and Furious star took to Instagram to share the news. “Thank you, God she’s ok. Angels of mercy watched over my mom as she was in a car crash late last night,” he wrote in the caption alongside a picture of her wrecked car. “She’ll survive and continue to get evaluated.”

The 50-year-old praised his mother for having fought so many battles and overcome them. “This woman has survived lung cancer, tough marriage, a head-on collision with a drunk driver, and attempted suicide,” Johnson praised her. “She’s a survivor, in ways that make angels and miracles real.”

He also went on to appreciate the emergency team members who were on the ground during the rescue operation. “Thank you LAPD + LAFD for being so caring and focused,” the WWE star wrote. “Thanks for staying on phone and talking me thru it all.”

Dwayne Johnson lost his father, Rocky who was also a pro wrestler in 2020 after he suffered a heart attack. The actor admitted that the incident broke him as he was not able to pay his last respect. “As you know, I lost my old man a few days ago. I lost him just like that, didn’t get a chance to goodbye to him,” Dwayne Johnson explained in an Instagram video. “I’d give anything right now to give him a big ole hug and a big ol’ kiss before he crossed over and just say thank you and I love you and I respect you. But I didn’t get a chance to say that, but such is life, as many of you know.”
The 50-year-old admonished his fans to maintain a close tie with their parents. “I got one parent left, so if you still got your mom and dad make sure you hug ‘em hard,” Dwayne Johnson advised. “Cos you never know when you’ll get that 3 am call we never want to get.”
