After the CMA Awards gave an Entertainer of the Year nod to Carrie Underwood, her fans are determined to riot if they so have to should she not receive the award. Underwood recently announced that she’ll be performing at the major country music event, which takes place November 9th, and will be singing her latest single, “Hate My Heart” from her album Denim and Rhinestones.
Aside from Entertainer of the Year, she’s also up for Female Vocalist of the Year and Musical Event of the Year alongside country star Jason Aldean.

“Praying you win EOTY!!!! You’ve deserved it for years.. [In my opinion] you should have 3 of those trophies by now,” one fan said in Underwood’s Instagram comments, starting the slew of comments in favor of Underwood for the Entertainer award. “She better win entertainer of the year especially [because] she’s on tour and the concert I went to was the best night ever,” another fan said. A third fan wrote, “EOTY or we riot.”

This EOTY nod marks her fourth time in six years to be up for it. She most recently lost out to Luke Combs in 2021. This year, she will also be competing against Luke Bryan, Morgan Wallen, Chris Stapleton, and Miranda Lambert—all stiff competition, indeed. Also, back in 2020, people eagerly awaited to hear Underwood’s comments after losing out to Eric Church that year. Fellow nominee that year, Miranda Lambert, actually had similar sentiments to Underwood fans, saying, “I think that last year was b— and that Carrie should’ve taken it.”
It’s very clear that fans will have their eye on the CMAs this year, once again, to see if Underwood will finally take home the gold… or not.
