Woman Buys 1966 GMC Commuter Greyhound Bus, Then Spends 3 Years Transforming It Into A Tiny Home

Jessie Lipskin, a 30-year-old New York City resident, decided to downsize and live a more minimalist lifestyle when she was inspired by the tiny home trend. She found her tiny home base on eBay, which was a 1966 GMC Commuter Greyhound bus. Jessie had friends and contractors help her transform this vintage bus into the most adorable tiny home. She invested $125,000 into the project.

The former Greyhound bus is now for sale and it’s going for about $50,000 right now on eBay, the place where she originally found it. Jessie originally settled for this adorable home due to its aesthetic and meeting her lifestyle needs. The transformation took a total of three years to complete. Wait until you see it!

“The transition was pretty natural after I read more about sustainable lifestyles, Earthships, tiny homes, all of that. I kind of just went all in,” Jessie said when asked about her transition to a more minimalist lifestyle with the tiny home.

Jessie apparently didn’t even have her drivers license prior to purchasing the vehicle but made sure to get it in time so she could relocate. Her friends also helped her during this process.

“My two friends drove it back to upstate New York and I rented a place up there for a bit while working on it and gutting it. From there, I moved it to New Jersey just because I knew people who could help me work on it there,” she said.

The tiny home is also chock full of modern day appliances. It features a large sink, wooden countertops, an oven, and a stove top. It also is equipped with a full washer and dryer machine, instant hot water, and a propane tank.

The bathroom is adjacent to the kitchen and is equipped with a full standing shower. Jessie’s personal favorite spot in the tiny home is the bedroom.

“I love not having a TV. I had the option to have a TV, but I really like waking up in the morning and hearing the birds outside my window,” she shared.

Jessie says that this lifestyle is perfect for people who are home often or work remotely and need a comfy, cozy place. She says this lifestyle has provided her with the chance to catch up on reading, something she always loved but was too busy to do before.

Jessie hopes the next owner of the house will love and appreciate it as much as she did.
