Actress Eunice Gayson, the first official Bond girl, has died. She was 90. The Bond franchise page tweeted a statement:
“We are so sad to learn that Eunice Gayson, our very first ‘Bond girl’ who played Sylvia Trench in DR. NO and FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE has passed away. Our sincere thoughts are with her family.”

She was best known for playing Sylvia Trench, James Bond’s girlfriend in the first two Bond franchise films, Dr. No and From Russia With Love. According to her Twitter page, the British actress passed away on Friday, June 8. Saddened by her passing saying, “An amazing lady who left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She will be very much missed.”

In her role as Sylvia Trench, Gayson helped create one of the most memorable and iconic catchphrases in film history when Sean Connery introduces himself as “Bond, James Bond.”
Gayson is survived by her daughter, Kate Gayson, who appeared as an extra in the ‘007’ film GoldenEye.
