Do you remember playing string games? We used to use plain old butcher’s strings as the famous ribbon in the wind or making cat’s cradle. From Jacob’s Ladder to Step by Step. It’s just so intriguing to think that something as simple and sturdy as butcher’s string could keep a child occupied all day!

You remember playing with building blocks, right? But what about when you didn’t have building block toys at your dispense? Whether perfectly crafted from the factory or homemade scraps in odd sizes made from collected wood, blocks were a fun time no matter what. And, larger pieces of scrap wood were sometimes just right for use as baby dolls, horsies, and other known toys.
