John Stewart passed away on January 19th, 2008. He left a “compilation of musical excellence unparalleled in his time,” as written by Stewart’s good friend Tom Delisle.

This was The Monkees’ last No. 1 hit on the charts before their big split. Their No. 1 hit would soon be replaced by “Hello Goodbye” by The Beatles.
