John Travolta has honored his late wife, Kelly Preston, with a heartfelt birthday tribute celebrating their daughter’s latest achievement. The 72-year-old Grease star shared a touching Instagram video on October 13, marking what would have been Preston’s 64th birthday, six years after her death.
According to People, rather than sharing an old photograph, Travolta celebrated the occasion by highlighting their daughter Ella Bleu’s recent appearance at Paris Fashion Week. The 26-year-old made her Paris runway debut earlier this month, giving her proud father another reason to remember the woman they both loved.

The actor posted a video montage showing Ella preparing for and walking in Miu Miu’s spring/summer 2027 fashion show on October 4. The clip featured behind-the-scenes moments and footage of her runway appearance alongside celebrities including Gigi Hadid and Olivia Colman. Meanwhile, Audrey Hepburn’s rendition of “Moon River” accompanied the emotional tribute.
“Look at your baby girl now, Kelly!! Happy birthday; you should be so proud!!” Travolta wrote. Ella had previously shared the montage on Instagram, where her father expressed his admiration in the comments. She also remembered her mother with a childhood photograph on Instagram Stories, writing, “Happy Birthday, Mama. I love you.”
Remembering Kelly Preston’s Life and Her Family’s Enduring Bond
Preston died in July 2020 at age 57 following a two-year battle with breast cancer. She and Travolta shared three children: Ella, Benjamin, and Jett, who tragically died in 2009 at age 16. Since losing his wife, the actor has continued honoring her memory through meaningful family milestones.
Earlier this year, Travolta also dedicated his film Propeller One-Way Night to Coach Preston, Jett, and other late family members. Ella, who previously walked for Karl Lagerfeld during New York Fashion Week in 2022, appeared in the film. Her latest achievement offers another touching reminder of the family’s enduring connection, while preserving the memory of the beloved actress.
